SMPS Oklahoma Member Awards

The SMPS Oklahoma awards program recognizes members for services to the chapter and excellence in the A/E/C industry. The program is intended to showcase the exceptional service member volunteers have given to the chapter over the past year (or more).

We encourage you to nominate fellow members in the categories of Shining Star, Rock of the Chapter, Marketer of the Year, Guiding Light Member of the Year and Committee Member of the Year. Category descriptions are located on the next page. There is no limit to the number of individuals you can nominate. Only one winner in each category will be selected.

Award Categories

• Rock of the Chapter (member for 5+ years)
• Shining Star (member for less than 5 years)
• Marketer of the Year (open to all members)
• Committee Member of the Year (open to all committee members)
• Guiding Light Member (CPSM and member for 2+ years)
• Member Spotlight (open to all members)
• Loyal Member of the Year (open to all members)

Please nominate a member (or several) who you think deserves an award for always going above and beyond to help the chapter.

SHINING STAR

Given to volunteer/member who has been a chapter member for between two to five years and has shown outstanding service to the chapter during the program year.

Selection criteria:

• Length of membership: two (2) to five (5) years
• Involvement in and active promotion of SMPS Oklahoma
• SMPS accomplishments over the course of the past year

ROCK OF THE CHAPTER

Presented to the member whose contributions have significantly impacted the chapter over the past SEVERAL years. This person is known to be a backbone of SMPS Oklahoma—always working for the greater good of the organization and the A/E/C industry.

Selection criteria:

• Length of membership: over five (5) years
• Involvement in and active promotion of SMPS Oklahoma
• SMPS accomplishments and involvement over the course of the past several years
• Promoted the reputation of SMPS Oklahoma within the A/E/C industry

GUIDING LIGHT MEMBER (CPSM)

This award is presented to a senior professional and CPSM in our industry whose career and service to SMPS and our own chapter are highly regarded and of value to others through mentorship and engagement within their firms and SMPS Oklahoma.

Selection criteria:

• Must have CPSM certification
• Length of membership: 2 years
• Involvement in and active promotion of SMPS Oklahoma
• Promoted the reputation of SMPS Oklahoma within the A/E/C industry

MARKETER OF THE YEAR

Presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding marketing efforts and leadership within their firm during the past year. This is an opportunity for members or non-members to recognize marketing, communications and/or business development achievements accomplished within a colleague’s firm and/or the A/E/C industry in general.

Selection criteria:

• Length of membership: ONE (1) or more years
• Examples of marketing leadership/campaigns over the past year and the benefits to colleagues’ firm or A/E/C Industry

COMMITTEE MEMBER OF THE YEAR

Presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding volunteer efforts by going above and beyond the required position. This is an opportunity for the Board to recognize their committees.

Selection criteria:

• Length of membership: Current member
• Committee member is involved on a current committee
• Accomplishments and/or stand-out ways that nominee has helped and elevated the committee

LOYAL MEMBER OF THE YEAR (NEW)

Presented to an individual who has demonstrated commitment, loyalty and dedication to the Chapter and its members. Who is an advocate for the Chapter and actively participates in events throughout the year.

Selection criteria:

• Length of membership: Current member
• Regularly participates in Chapter events

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Please submit a one-page qualifying statement for each nomination. The qualifying statement should address each of the appropriate award criteria listed in the attached detailed award descriptions. Jurors will evaluate the awards based on the criteria. Jurors will be a representative cross-section of SMPS Oklahoma members. There is no entry fee. Self-nominations are allowed.
